PhD Agriculture Scholarships


Two PhD Agriculture students are sought to undertake studies in one of the projects. Both projects focus on new forms of governance that are looking to two of the greatest environmental challenges facing Australia and the international community's groundwater resources to climate change and the scarcity of response.

PhD Agriculture Climate Project: the continuing failure of governments and multilateral treaties in order to achieve effective results given climate goal of this project is an ambitious but potentially more powerful "actor" in the governance of climate model study in Australia and the world. These new players in the form of climate change movements of civil society (such as "Get Up", "1 Million Women ', '350. Org and '1010'). This project will investigate the circumstances under which these new movements, the law, policy and practice form (eg mechanisms of direct action, lobbying and partnerships) to deliver air to effective and legitimate. The project focuses on principles that lead to these new movements to better influence on the climate regime of the law and to develop and deliver the results improved climate.

PhD Agriculture Groundwater: This project responds to the recent call for a "strengthening revolution water reform communities to water in cooperation and redemption to manage rights in Australia, the project explores the circumstances under which is forms of cooperation in the management of groundwater probably both. effective as the approach to self-government and as part of the broader legal and regulatory systems. It is the necessary consultation and prescription supply for policy makers in order to this "revolution" to provide and mobilize the governance of groundwater in cooperation to better results for to achieve environmental Australia.

The
PhD Agriculture successful candidate will be an innovative team of researchers from the School of Law at Macquarie join to undertake interdisciplinary research on current issues relating to governance, legal and public policy.

These
PhD Agriculture scholarships are open to national and international candidates, but only one is currently available for studying abroad.
