Managing Urban Water Cycle PhD Scholarship

Scholarship Description

A PhD student is sought to contribute to the multidisciplinary project studying the development of an integrated modelling and visualisation platform aimed to minimise the water resource footprint through an optimal combination of multiple water sources and uses as well as integrating the management of water with the landscape. The student will use hydrologic and water resource systems modelling techniques linked to alternative forms of urban designs with the aim of predicting and evaluating water efficiency in terms of water quantity & quality. The focus of this research is the collection of qualitative, as well as quantitative, information about water supply management practices and uses, the benefits and costs of current systems as well as potential options for demonstration projects prioritised by stakeholders. The stipend is initially available for 3.5 years with possible extension to 4 yrs. Student fees will be waived. It is open to overseas students.
